YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil Review

YSL has come out with an innovative new product line and very unique lip product called “YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil”.  This is a nourishing oil that softens the lips and provides a tinted wash of colour.  The oils are a mix of oils that are “good” for your lips and very nourishing, consisting of: Apricot kernel oil, macadamia seed oil, coriander fruit oil, jojoba seed oil, passion flower oil.

I swatched YSL Volupte Tint-in-Oil colours and I found them to be very light in colour and the tones similar to each other. The colours range from almost clear-nude tones, pink tones, and peachy-orange tones.

If you’re choosing by your favourite lip colour tone:

  • Pinks: #4 I Rose You, #5 Cherie my Cherie, #8 Pink About Me
  • Peaches, oranges: #1 Drive Me Copper, #2 Oh My Gold, #6 Peach Me Love, #7 Crush Me Orange
  • Clear, nude: #3 Undress Me – looks almost clear swatched.

Since I love pink gloss 😉 I purchased #8 “Pink About Me” from the recent Sephora VIB sale, which is a light cool-toned pink.  When I swatched it, it looked very cool-pink on my hand, but on my pigmented lips I found it turned a bit red-toned, still very pretty.  Upon application to my lips, the colour showed up a lot and showed very glossy, nice! In about an hour or so, the glossy shine of the oil wore off and left a subtle tint.  If you have pigmented lips, the tint colour doesn’t really show up too strong.  You would need to reapply frequently throughout the day to keep that fresh shine and colour.

If you’re a medium skin tone like me, here is what #6, #4, #5 and #6 look like swatched:

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, in typical YSL fashion 🙂  It looks and feels like a luxury beauty product, to match the price point of $35.00 CAD/$32.00 USD.  I just love the lip applicator, it’s a uniquely shaped doe-foot, and applies the gloss beautifully on your lips.

Overall it’s a pretty cool and unique product if you’re looking to try something different. I’ll be picking up #5 Cherie My Cherie to add to my collection, which colours will you be trying?
